Presente Simple / Present Simple Tense

Verbo + s/es en tercera persona.

Usamos el presente simple para lo siguiente:

Para expresar habitos, verdades generales, acciones que se repiten o situaciones, emociones y deseos que no cambian:

  • I smoke (habit); I work in London (unchanging situation); London is a large city (general truth)

Para dar instrucciones o direcciones:

  • You walk for two hundred meters, then you turn left.

Para expresar arreglos fijos, en el presente o en el futuro:

  • Your exam starts at 09.00

Para expresar un tiempo futuro, despues de ciertas conjunciones: after (después), when (cuando), before (antes), as soon as (tan pronto como), until (hasta que)

  • He’ll give it to you when you come next Saturday.

Ahora (verbos no-continuos)

  • I am here now.
